Archbishop Tlali Gerard Lerotholi O.M.I 

Arch bishop lerotholiArchbishop Tlali Gerard Lerotholi, O.M.I. was born on the 12th February 1954 in Mokhotlong. He was ordained deacon in 1981 and was pronounced by perpetual vows in the Congregation of the Missionaries Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI). He was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on the 3rd January 1982. He has a doctorate degree in Biblical Theology from St Paul University, Ottawa, Canada and a Licentiate in Sacred Scriptures (L.S.S.). He was a lecturer at the National University of Lesotho and St Augustine's Major Seminary from 2002-2009.  He was appointed archbishop of Maseru on the 27 June, 2009 and consecrated Bishop on the 12th September 2009. He succeeds Archbishop Emeritus Bernard Mohlalisi O.M.I. He is currently the Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Maseru and president of both the Lesotho Catholic Bishops Conference and the Christian Council of Lesotho. He is the Bishop Chairman of the Commission for Social Concern within the Lesotho Catholic Bishops’ Conference.

Bishop Augustinus Tumaole Bane O.M.I

bishop BaneBishop Augustinus Tumaole Bane O.M.I was born on the 14th August 1947 at Motsitseng Mokhotlong. He was admitted to the novitiate of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in 1971. He was ordained priest on the 23rd January 1977. Following his ordination, he served the Catholic Church in various assignments; parish assistant at ‘Mamohau and Laghetto Missions, parish priest in various missions, provincial vicar, Superior at Mater Jesu Scholasticate and O.M.I provincial superior. In 1993-1994 he went on sabbatical at Gonzaga University in the United States of America. He was appointed Bishop of Leribe on the 30th June 2009 and was consecrated bishop on the 19th September 2009. He succeeds the late Bishop Paul Khoarai. He is the Vice President of the Lesotho Catholic Bishops’ Conference and is the Bishop Chairman of the Commission for Christian Education and Seminaries within the Lesotho Catholic Bishops’ Conference.

Bishop Joseph Mopeli Sephamola O.M.I

Bishop SephamolaBishop Joseph Mopeli Sephamola OMI was born on the 14th March 1960 in the parish of St. Francis Mission in Tsoelike Qacha’s Nek. In 1983, he was admitted to the novitiate of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate. On 6 January 1984, he made his first religious professional vows. He studied philosophy and theology in 1984-1990. He made his final vows in 1989. He was ordained a priest on 27th April 1991. After his priestly ordination, he had the following assignments: 1991-2000: Missionary in Zambia; 2001-2003: scholasticate in Roma (Lesotho); 2004-2008: Master of Novices at Villa Maria, Quthing, Qacha’s Nek; 2009-2011: studies in spirituality in South Africa. Since July 2011, he has been the provincial of the Oblates in Lesotho. He was appointed Bishop of Qacha’s Nek on the 18th June 2013 and consecrated Bishop on the 21st September 2013. He succeeds the late Bishop Evaristus Thatho Bitsoane. He is the Bishop Chairman of the Commission for Church Ministries within the Lesotho Catholic Bishops’ Conference.

Bishop Joale John Tlhomola SCP

bishop tlhomolaBishop Joale John Tlhomola was born on the 12th March 1966. He attended his primary school at Pulane Primary School and later enrolled at St. Theresa Seminary for his secondary education. He completed his COSC at Makaota High School in 1984. In 1987, he was admitted to the novitiate of the Servants of Christ the Priest in Hammanskraal Pretoria. In 1989 he enrolled at St. Augustine Major Seminary where he completed his training in 1994. He worked as an Assistant in St Ambrose Pre-Seminary in 1995-1996. He was ordained deacon at Maseru Cathedral by Archbishop Bernard Mohlalisi O.M.I on the 8th December 1996. He was ordained priest on the 28th March 1998 and served at the Cathedral until 2004 when he was transferred to Christ the Priest Mission in Motsekuoa. In 2010 he was appointed Bursar at St Augustine Major Seminary. In 2011 he was appointed General Director of Servants of Christ the Priest. He was appointed Bishop of Mohale’s Hoek on the 11th February 2014 and consecrated Bishop on the 10th May 2014. He succeeds Bishop Emeritus Sabastian Khoarai as the Bishop of Mohale’s Hoek.  He is the Bishop Chairman of the Commission for Christian Services within the Lesotho Catholic Bishops’ Conference.
